Do rules have to be approved by the Owners?

While the strata council makes the rules, they must be approved by a majority vote of the owners at the next Annual General Meeting. They can also be approved at a Special General Meeting before the next Annual General Meeting. 1
If a rule is not approved (also referred to as “ratified”) on or before the next Annual General Meeting, the rule ceases to have effect. 2
